Bill Rancic (born May 16, 1971) is an American businessman and TV personality. He became famous after winning the first season of Donald Trump's reality TV show, The Apprentice. On the show, people competed for a job with Trump's company. Bill was the first person to be "hired" by Trump on the show. He is married to TV host Giuliana Rancic and lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Early Life and Education
Bill Rancic was born in Chicago on May 16, 1971. He grew up in a town called Orland Park. His family has roots in Croatia and Ireland. Bill went to St. Michael's School and later graduated from Carl Sandburg High School. He then earned a science degree from Loyola University Chicago.
Winning The Apprentice
In the spring of 2004, Bill Rancic was one of 16 people competing on the first season of The Apprentice. This show was like a long job interview where contestants completed different business tasks.
After 14 weeks of challenges, Bill was chosen as the winner. He beat another finalist named Kwame Jackson. For the final task, Bill had to organize a golf event with celebrities. Kwame had to manage a concert. In the end, Donald Trump chose Bill to work for his company.
As the winner, Bill had two choices for his new job. He could lead the building of the Trump Tower Chicago in his hometown. Or, he could manage a new golf course and resort in Los Angeles. Bill chose to work on the Trump Tower in Chicago.
Bill's first contract was for one year. He decided to stay with the Trump Organization even after his contract ended. He even appeared on later seasons of The Apprentice as a judge sometimes.

TV Shows and Production
After The Apprentice, Bill Rancic continued his career in television. In 2007, he co-hosted a TV show and online program called In the Loop with iVillage.
In 2008, Bill became the host of We Mean Business on A&E. This show helped small business owners improve their companies.
Bill and his wife, Giuliana Rancic, started their own TV production company in 2008. It's called You and I Productions. They create both reality and scripted shows. In 2009, they launched their own reality show, Giuliana and Bill, on the E! network.
Bill also hosted a news program called America Now starting in 2010. It was shown across the United States. Later, Leeza Gibbons joined him as a co-host.
In 2012, Bill became a spokesperson for Rogaine, a product for hair loss. He appeared in commercials to share his own experience. In 2014, he hosted Kitchen Casino on the Food Network. This was a cooking competition where chefs played casino-themed games to win money.
Real Estate in Chicago
Bill Rancic has also been involved in real estate in Chicago. He bought and renovated old homes and condos. He later sold these properties after making improvements. For example, he bought a 19th-century house in 2013, fixed it up, and sold it in 2019.
Opening Restaurants
In 2011, Bill and Giuliana partnered with a restaurant company to open Italian restaurants in Chicago. Their first restaurant, RPM Italian, opened in 2012 in Chicago's River North area.
They opened more restaurants, including RPM Steak in Chicago. They also opened another RPM Italian in Washington, D.C.. These restaurants have become very popular, even with celebrities like Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
Personal Life
Bill Rancic got engaged to Giuliana DePandi in December 2006. They got married in September 2007 in Italy.
In April 2012, Bill and Giuliana shared exciting news. They announced they were expecting their first child through a gestational carrier. In August 2012, their son was born in Denver, Colorado.
