William John Miller II (born September 17, 1979 – died September 15, 2023), known as Billy Miller, was an American actor. He was famous for his roles in American soap operas. He won awards for playing Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless. He also played two characters, Jason Morgan and Drew Cain, on General Hospital.

Early Life and School
Billy Miller was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. As a child, he spent five years as a patient at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He later supported this organization.
Miller went to Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas. He then studied at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He earned a degree in communications there. He was one of only twenty students in the film department's special Production Sequence program.
Acting Career
After college, Billy Miller moved to Los Angeles. He started working in the mail room at Industry Entertainment. His first chance to act came when he joined the Wilhelmina modeling agency. He appeared in six commercials, including two for Electronic Arts' video game The Sims. He also did commercials for stores like JCPenney and restaurants like Pizza Hut.
When he was 24, Miller tried out for a role on As the World Turns, a CBS soap opera. He did not get the part. After this, he took a break from acting for two years.
Returning to Acting
In 2006, Miller started acting again. He appeared in an episode of CSI: NY. A year later, he got the role of Richie Novak on All My Children, an ABC soap opera. His first episode was on August 30, 2007.
When his character was written off the show in 2008, Miller started auditioning again. He was chosen to play Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless. He won his first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor on June 27, 2010. He won this award again on June 14, 2013.
In 2011, he was nominated for the same award a second time. Miller also appeared as himself in an independent film called Remembering Nigel. This movie was shown at the Paso Robles Digital Film Festival in 2009.
Later Roles
In August 2012, it was announced that Miller would appear on The CW show Ringer. He also played Gabe Watson in the Lifetime TV movie Fatal Honeymoon. In November 2013, Miller announced he would leave the role of Billy Abbott. He called this decision the "hardest thing" he had ever done.
On September 2, 2014, General Hospital producer Frank Valentini announced that Miller would join the cast. He played Jason Morgan. In March 2018, he was nominated for an Emmy for this role. Later, another actor returned to play Jason. So, Miller's character was changed to Jason's twin brother, Drew Cain. In July 2019, Miller announced he was leaving General Hospital.
Death
Billy Miller passed away in Austin, Texas, on September 15, 2023. He was 43 years old.
