About Bizzle's Life and Music

Early Life and Beginnings

Mark Felder grew up in Los Angeles, California. His mother raised him for most of his childhood. His family did not have much money. When he was about 13, he first went into a music studio. He enjoyed listening to Tupac and started writing his own rhymes.

Felder created several mixtapes and shared them widely. He performed before big artists like Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana. He also opened for Lil Boosie. At one point, Felder faced tough financial times. He even slept on a friend's floor.

Early Music Releases (2004–2008)

Between 2004 and 2008, Bizzle released many mixtapes. These included the L.A.V. Mixtapes series. He also released Dirty West Mixtapes in Houston, Texas. Later, he put out Certified Mixtape back in California.

In 2005, Bizzle was offered a record deal but turned it down. Two years later, he received another offer from Blackground/Universal. He decided to decline that offer as well. Bizzle spent three years getting ready for his first album, Grind Pays.

Christian Music Journey (2008–2011)

Bizzle's Christian faith led him to think about the messages in music. On January 16, 2010, he released "You Got Some Explaining to Do." This song was aimed at Jay-Z. It questioned some of Jay-Z's lyrics about Jesus. This song made Bizzle known as the "Christian Rapper that dissed Jay Z."

Because of the positive feedback, Bizzle decided to make music with a Christian message. He wanted to share his beliefs through his songs. He released his first Christian mixtape, The Messenger, in March 2010. Two more mixtapes, The Messenger 2: Delivered and The Messenger 3: Truth Music, followed.

After The Messenger came out, Bizzle started God Over Money Records. This record label is based in Houston, Texas. The label has released many mixtapes and albums. It has also signed other artists.

Bizzle's first official album, Tough Love & Parables, was released on June 21, 2011. It reached No. 15 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. The album was also featured on the iTunes Store.

Success and Collaborations (2012–2014)

On February 7, 2012, Bizzle and Willie Moore, Jr. released Best of Both Worlds: The Album. This album reached No. 5 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap Chart.

Bizzle's second studio album, The Good Fight, came out on May 7, 2013. This album featured work from Grammy-winning producer Boi-1da. The first song from the album was "Soldier." It included No Malice and had a music video. Other songs were "Dear Hip-Hop" and "My Confession."

The Good Fight was very successful. It debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Gospel Albums chart. It also reached No. 7 on Christian Albums and No. 11 on Top Rap Albums. Bizzle mentioned that Boi-1da worked on the project for free. Their teamwork was featured in XXL magazine in 2012.

Bizzle was nominated for awards at the Stellar Awards in 2012 and 2014. He also received three nominations at the Kingdom Choice Awards. In 2013, he won three Kingdom Choice Awards. These were for Rap Single of The Year, Hip Hop Album of The Year, and Music Video of The Year.

"Same Love" Discussion

On January 28, 2014, Bizzle released "Same Love (A Response)." This song was a reply to the popular song "Same Love" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Bizzle's song began with a quote from the Book of Timothy. It then used the same music as Macklemore's original song.

Bizzle's song discussed how media presents different social topics. It suggested that it's important to be tolerant of all viewpoints. The song also encouraged Christians to stay strong in their beliefs.

Within three days, the song had over 30,000 views on YouTube. Some news outlets, like The Huffington Post, found the song concerning. The Advocate newspaper said Bizzle's song used the original music to share a different perspective on relationships. Bizzle reported receiving threats because of the song. He also created a website to explain his views. He stated that he was not against anyone, but simply sharing an opposing argument.

Bizzle's Personal Life
