The Black Hills are a small group of hills and low mountains. You can find them in Riverside County, which is in southern California. They are part of a larger system called the Peninsular Ranges.
About the Black Hills
These hills are not very tall. Their highest point reaches about 2,739 feet (835 meters) above sea level. This makes them a "low" mountain range compared to much larger mountains.
Where are They?
The Black Hills are located to the east of a city called Temecula. Another important landmark nearby is Oak Mountain, which lies to the south of the Black Hills. They are an interesting part of the natural landscape in this area of California.
