Blaine is a small town located in Aroostook County, Maine, in the United States. In 2020, about 667 people lived there.

Before it became an official town in 1874, it was called Alva. The town was renamed in honor of James G. Blaine. He was a very important politician, serving as the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

A special pamphlet from Blaine's 1974 Centennial Celebration tells us why the name changed. James G. Blaine donated a schoolhouse bell to the town. This was a thank-you for them choosing to name the town after him. The bell was made in 1875. Today, you can find it in the old Blaine Grange Hall. The Central Aroostook Historical Society takes care of it.
