Bloomfield (in Navajo: Naabiʼání) is a city in northeastern San Juan County, New Mexico. It is part of the Farmington area. In 2020, about 7,421 people lived there.
Bloomfield is located on the Trails of the Ancients Byway. This is one of New Mexico's special scenic roads.

Geography
Bloomfield covers an area of about 5.1 square miles (13.2 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a small part, about 0.1 square miles (0.26 square kilometers), is water.

In 2000, Bloomfield had 6,417 people living there. The city had 2,222 households. The average age of people in Bloomfield was 31 years old. About 32.4% of the population was under 18 years old.
Education
Most students in Bloomfield go to schools managed by Bloomfield Schools. The main high school for the city is Bloomfield High School.
A small part of northern Bloomfield is in the Aztec Municipal Schools district. Students from that area attend Aztec High School. Before 1956, all Bloomfield students went to Aztec High. Bloomfield High School started in 1956 from the town's junior high school.
Places to Visit
The Salmon Ruins pueblo and museum are just west of Bloomfield. You can find them along Highway 64. These ruins are what is left of a 12th-century Anasazi village. The ruins are open for visitors to explore. You can also see the old home of George Salmon there.
Other interesting places nearby include the Aztec Ruins. These are about 15 miles (24 km) north in the town of Aztec. The Chaco Culture National Historical Park is also close, about 50 miles (80 km) south.
Ten Commandments Monument
In 2007, the city council in Bloomfield decided to put up a stone monument of the Ten Commandments at city hall. Later, some residents felt this was not right for a government building. After a legal discussion, it was decided that the monument should be moved. The monument was then moved to land owned by a Baptist church.
