Robert Douglas Brown (born September 24, 1984), known as Bobby Brown, is an American who used to play professional basketball. He is now the director of player development for the Cal State Fullerton Titans men's basketball team. Bobby is 6 feet 2 inches tall and played as a point guard, which is a player who leads the team's offense.
After finishing college at Cal State Fullerton, Bobby tried to join the NBA in 2007 but was not chosen by any team. He then went to play basketball in Germany for a team called Alba Berlin. In 2008, he came back to the United States and played for several NBA teams. These included the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, and the Los Angeles Clippers.
While playing for Montepaschi Siena in Italy during the 2012–13 season, Bobby tied a EuroLeague scoring record. He scored 41 points in one game! He also won the Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy in 2013, which is given to the player who scores the most points in the EuroLeague.

High School Basketball Journey
Bobby Brown went to Westchester High School in Los Angeles, California. He played high school basketball there. He played alongside other talented players who later joined the NBA, like Trevor Ariza and Hassan Adams.
College Basketball Career
After high school, Bobby played NCAA Division I college basketball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. He played for them from 2003 to 2007. In the 2005–06 season, Bobby was chosen for the All-Big West Conference First Team, which means he was one of the best players in his college league.
During his four years with the Titans, Bobby scored a total of 1,961 points in 116 games. This means he averaged about 16.9 points per game. At that time, he was the school's all-time leading scorer.
Professional Basketball Path
Starting His Pro Journey Overseas
Bobby Brown left Cal State Fullerton in 2007. He was not picked in the 2007 NBA draft, so he looked for other opportunities. In August 2007, he signed with a German team called ALBA Berlin. He helped them win the German national league.
He also played in an exciting EuroCup game that went into five overtime periods. In that game, he scored 44 points, which was the second-highest score ever in that competition.
First Time in the NBA
In 2008, Bobby came back to the U.S. and played for the New Orleans Hornets in the NBA Summer League. A big moment for him was when he made a game-winning shot against the Charlotte Bobcats.
Because he played so well in the Summer League, the Sacramento Kings offered him a two-year contract. Other NBA teams and many teams from overseas also wanted him. He almost signed a big contract with FC Barcelona in Spain.
On February 19, 2009, Bobby was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Later, on September 9, he was traded again to the New Orleans Hornets. On January 26, 2010, he was traded one more time to the Los Angeles Clippers.
In July 2010, Bobby played for the Toronto Raptors in the 2010 NBA Summer League.
Playing in Europe Again
On September 22, 2010, Bobby signed with a Polish team called Asseco Prokom. However, he left the team in December. He then signed a two-month contract with the Greek team Aris on December 3, 2010. He played 35 games for Aris, averaging 12.2 points per game.
On August 5, 2011, Bobby signed with another German team, EWE Baskets Oldenburg.
Time with Montepaschi Siena
On August 8, 2012, Bobby signed a one-year contract with the Italian team Montepaschi Siena. He took the place of another top scorer, Bo McCalebb. Bobby won the EuroLeague 2012–13 Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy in 2013. This award goes to the player who scores the most points in the EuroLeague season. He averaged 18.8 points per game. He was also fourth in the EuroLeague for assists, with 5.3 per game.
On January 4, 2013, Bobby scored 41 points in a comeback win against Fenerbahçe Ülker. This tied the EuroLeague's single-game scoring record since the 2000–01 season. He was named the EuroLeague MVP of the Month for January.
Playing for Dongguan Leopards
In the summer of 2013, Bobby signed with the Dongguan Leopards in China. On December 27, 2013, he scored an amazing 74 points in a game that went into overtime. This was the second-highest number of points scored in a single game in the history of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) at that time.
On May 22, 2014, Bobby extended his contract with Dongguan for three more years.
Playing for Beşiktaş Sompo Japan
On March 28, 2016, Bobby signed with Beşiktaş Sompo Japan in Turkey. He played for them for the rest of the Turkish Super League's 2015–16 season.
Second Time in the NBA
On September 23, 2016, Bobby signed with the Houston Rockets. He was waived by the Rockets on December 5, 2016, but then re-signed with them on December 16.
On September 25, 2017, Bobby signed with the Rockets again. He was waived by them on January 5, 2018.
Playing for Olympiacos Piraeus
On February 22, 2018, Bobby signed with Olympiacos in Greece. He played for them for the rest of the Greek Basket League and EuroLeague seasons.
Playing for Mornar
On November 1, 2018, Bobby signed a one-year contract with Mornar in Montenegro. He left the team on November 28.
Playing for NBA G League Ignite
On February 1, 2021, Bobby signed with the NBA G League Ignite. This was one of his last teams as a professional player.
The Basketball Tournament
Bobby Brown played in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), which is a special tournament where teams compete for a big cash prize.
- In 2018, he played for the CitiTeam Blazers. He averaged 20.5 points per game. His team lost in the second round.
- In 2019, Bobby played for the team called Overseas Elite. This team had won the tournament four times in a row. They made it to the semifinals but lost their first-ever game in the tournament.
