Boo (born March 16, 2006 – died January 18, 2019) was a very famous Pomeranian dog. He became known as "the world's cutest dog." Boo had a super popular Facebook page with millions of fans. He was also featured in four photo-books.
Boo was owned by Irene Ahn, who worked at Facebook. She also owned Boo's older brother, Buddy.

How Boo Became Famous
Boo's owner, Irene Ahn, lived in San Francisco. She made a Facebook page for Boo. The page simply said, "My name is Boo. I am a dog. Life is good."
Boo became super popular in October 2010. This happened after the singer Kesha sent a tweet about him. She linked to Boo's Facebook page, and suddenly everyone wanted to see him!
Boo's Books and Merchandise
A company called Chronicle Books noticed Boo's huge fan base. At that time, he had 5 million fans on Facebook. They asked Boo's owner to write a picture book about him.
In August 2011, the first book came out. It was called Boo: The Life of the World's Cutest Dog. His owner wrote it using the pen name J. H. Lee. This book was so popular it was published in ten different languages!
Later, a second book was released, called Boo: Little Dog in the Big City. People could also buy a calendar featuring Boo. There were even plans for more children's books and a cut-out book. You could also get a Gund stuffed animal that looked just like Boo.
Boo's Health and Passing
Boo's owners shared that he started having heart problems. This began after his older brother, Buddy, passed away. Boo died peacefully in his sleep on January 18, 2019.
Boo in the Media
Boo was so famous that he even had a death hoax in April 2012. A hashtag, #RIPBOO, appeared all over Facebook. People on Twitter, including a writer from Gizmodo, thought Boo had died. Luckily, the people at Chronicle Books quickly confirmed that Boo was still alive and well!
In July 2012, Boo got a special job. He was named the Official Pet Liaison for Virgin America airline. He appeared in photos on an airplane. He also gave advice for people who travel with their pets. Boo even modeled cool sunglasses for a company called The Monocle Order.
In August 2012, a writer named Mike Isaac from All Things Digital revealed Boo's owner's name. It was Irene Ahn, a Facebook employee.
