Bossòst (pronounced boo-SOSS) is a charming village and municipality in the Pyrenees mountains. It is located in the western part of Val d'Aran, a special region in Catalonia, Spain. In 2022, about 1,121 people lived there.
Bossòst is part of an area called a terçon, specifically the Quate Lòcs terçon. This is a traditional way the Val d'Aran region is divided.
Where is Bossòst Located?
Bossòst sits on the left bank of the Garona River. This river flows through the village, adding to its beauty. The village is surrounded by other towns like Les, Vilamòs, and Arres. It also shares a border with France, near the town of Bagnères-de-Luchon.
Sports in Bossòst
Bossòst has a local football (soccer) club called UE Bossòst. This club is quite special! It plays its regular matches in a foreign country. Even though Bossòst is in Spain, the team plays in the minor leagues in France. This is unusual for a sports team.
