Geography
Bouldin Island is quite large, covering about 2,400 hectares (5,900 acres). It is surrounded by different waterways. To the north, the South Mokelumne River separates it from Staten Island.
On the east side, you'll find Little Potato Slough. To the south, the island is bordered by Potato Slough. The Mokelumne River forms the western boundary of the island.
State Route 12 crosses the northern part of Bouldin Island. This road is also known as Kettleman Lane on the island.
There's a special swing bridge on State Route 12 over the Mokelumne River. This bridge connects the northwest part of Bouldin Island to Andrus Island. Near the northeast tip of Bouldin Island, another tall bridge on State Route 12 crosses Little Potato Slough. This bridge connects the island to the city of Stockton, California.
