Boylan Bottling Company is an American company that makes special soft drinks. They are located in New York City. The company started in Paterson, New Jersey, in 1891. Boylan drinks are famous for their glass bottles. They also have cool, old-fashioned labels. Sometimes the bottles even have labels painted right on the glass! All Boylan drinks are made with pure cane sugar. They are always bottled in glass. The Boylan name was officially registered in 1891.
How Boylan Bottling Started
Boylan's very first drink was birch beer. The recipe for this drink was created in 1891. It was made by a pharmacist named Steven William Boylan. This happened in Paterson, New Jersey.
In the 1930s, the Fiorina family bought the company. They bought it from the Boylan family. The company's main offices moved a few times. From the late 1950s until 2001, it was in Haledon, New Jersey. After that, it moved to Clifton, New Jersey, for a short time. Then it moved to Moonachie, New Jersey. Later, it went to Teterboro, New Jersey. Finally, in 2013, Boylan Bottling Company moved to New York City.
On September 10, 2003, a bank called Emigrant Bank bought Boylan. They worked with a company called The Courtney Group. This was the first time these buyers got involved with a drink company. It helped Boylan Bottling Company grow even more.
