The Story of Bragg City
Bragg City has an interesting past! It was first called Owl City when it was founded in 1894. This was around the time a railroad line reached the area. For a while, it was also known as "Clayroot."
A post office opened there in 1911 with the Clayroot name. But in 1917, the name officially changed to Bragg City. This new name honored W. G. Bragg, who owned the land where the city was built.
Where is Bragg City?
Bragg City is found in the western part of Pemiscot County. It's located northeast of a larger town called Kennett.
Two main roads, State Route K and State Route A, help people get around. State Route K goes through the city, linking it to Pascola to the east. State Route A runs through the northwest, connecting Bragg City to Wardell and U.S. Route 412. The city is quite small, covering about 0.20 square miles (0.53 square kilometers) of land.
