Brainard is a small village located in Butler County, Nebraska, in the United States. In 2020, about 336 people lived there. It's a quiet place with a rich history.

History
Brainard was started in 1878. This happened when the railroad tracks were built to reach that spot. The village was named after David Brainerd. He was an American missionary who worked with Native American people. Even though the spelling is a little different, the name honors him.
Geography
