College Football Career

Browner played college football at Oregon State University. He spent his first year, 2002, as a "redshirt" player, meaning he practiced but did not play in games. After that, he started every game he played for the Beavers.

In 2003, Browner was named to several Freshman All-America teams. He was also chosen as the Pac-10 Conference Freshman of the Year. He earned a spot on the All-Pac-10 second-team. That year, he had six interceptions, which was one of the best numbers in the nation. He also made 43 tackles and helped his team a lot.

Starting with the Denver Broncos

In 2005, Brandon Browner signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. This means he was not chosen in the NFL draft but was signed by a team afterward. Unfortunately, he suffered a forearm injury during a preseason game. This injury caused him to miss the entire 2005 season. He was later released by the Broncos in 2006.

Time with the Calgary Stampeders

After leaving the NFL, Browner joined the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 2006. Fans loved his speed and competitive spirit. He helped the Stampeders win the Grey Cup championship in 2008. He was also named a CFL All-Star in both 2008 and 2009.

First Stint with the Seattle Seahawks

Browner returned to the NFL in 2011, signing with the Seattle Seahawks. He started every game that season. A highlight was his 94-yard interception return for a touchdown against the New York Giants. He also had two interceptions in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2012, Browner was temporarily suspended for a few games. Despite this, he was still chosen to play in the 2012 Pro Bowl. He was a replacement for another injured player. In 2013, he faced another suspension, which meant he could not play in Super Bowl XLVIII. Even without him, the Seahawks won the Super Bowl 43–8, earning their first championship. His suspension was later adjusted to cover the first four games of the 2014 season.

Playing for the New England Patriots

On March 14, 2014, Browner signed a three-year contract with the New England Patriots. After serving his four-game suspension, he made his debut in Week 7. He finished the season with 25 tackles and one interception in nine games.

Browner played a key role in the Patriots' victory in Super Bowl XLIX. They defeated his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, 28–24. In the Super Bowl, Browner made three tackles. In the final seconds of the game, he helped create a play that led to a game-winning interception by Malcolm Butler. This play secured the Super Bowl title for the Patriots.

Time with the New Orleans Saints

In 2015, Browner signed with the New Orleans Saints. He was chosen as one of the defensive team captains. He finished the season with 76 tackles and one interception. However, his time in New Orleans was challenging. He received more penalties than any other player in the league that season. He was released by the Saints in March 2016.

Second Stint with the Seattle Seahawks

On April 17, 2016, Browner signed a one-year contract to return to the Seattle Seahawks. The team's coach, Pete Carroll, planned for Browner to play a new role. He would be a mix of a cornerback, safety, and linebacker. However, the Seahawks released Browner on August 29, before the regular season began.

Flag Football Career

In 2018, Brandon Browner joined the Roadrunners, a team in the American Flag Football League. This team was led by retired quarterback Michael Vick.
