Bristol Sheeran Marie Palin (born October 18, 1990) is an American public speaker and television personality. She is the oldest daughter of Todd Palin and Sarah Palin. Bristol is the second of their five children.
Palin competed on the TV show Dancing with the Stars in 2010. She made it to the finals and finished in third place. In 2011, Bristol released a book about her life. She also starred in the Lifetime TV show Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp in 2012. Later in 2012, she returned for the 15th season of Dancing with the Stars, where she was eliminated in the fourth week.

Early Life and Education
Bristol Palin was born in Wasilla, Alaska. Her parents are Todd and Sarah. She was named "Bristol" after the Bristol Bay area of Alaska, where her father grew up. Her mother also worked at the Bristol Inn and hoped to work at ESPN, which is headquartered in Bristol, Connecticut.
Bristol was mostly raised in Wasilla. She attended Juneau-Douglas High School when her mother was the governor of Alaska. She also briefly lived in Anchorage and attended West Anchorage High School. She graduated from Wasilla High School in May 2009.

Bristol Palin first gained national attention in August 2008. This happened when Senator John McCain chose her mother, Sarah Palin, to be his running mate for Vice President. On September 1, 2008, it was announced that Bristol was pregnant. She was 17 years old at the time. She was also engaged to Levi Johnston, who was the father of her baby.
Bristol's whole family, including Levi, appeared at the 2008 Republican National Convention. Levi Johnston said that he was not being forced to get married. He stated that they had planned to marry for a long time.

Television Appearances
The Secret Life of the American Teenager
Palin appeared in an episode of the ABC Family TV series The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She played a friend of a character who was dealing with an unexpected pregnancy. She filmed her scenes in March 2010, and the episode aired on July 5, 2010. She later said she did not plan to do more acting.
Dancing with the Stars, Season 11
Palin was a contestant on the fall 2010 season of Dancing with the Stars. Her dance partner was professional dancer Mark Ballas. The show aired from September to November 2010.
Even though she often received lower scores from the judges, Palin and Ballas were not eliminated for many weeks. This caused a lot of media attention. Some people questioned the public voting process. However, the show's producers said their system prevented unfair voting. They thought Palin might have received votes from her mother's fans and older viewers. Palin said her success came from her fans who watched her improve each week.

In July 2018, Palin began working as a real estate agent. She joined Keller Williams Realty in Austin, Texas. In January 2020, Bristol joined another real estate agency in Austin called Austin Home Seekers.

In June 2011, Bristol Palin's book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, was released. She wrote it with Nancy French. In the book, Palin shares details about her personal life. The book received mixed reviews. It reached #21 on The New York Times Best Seller list for non-fiction books.

In December 2008, Bristol Palin gave birth to her son, Tripp. The father was her high school boyfriend, Levi Johnston. Bristol stated that having her child was her own decision.
Palin and Johnston ended their engagement in March 2009. In November 2009, they went to court to decide on custody and child support for Tripp. Palin wanted to keep the court proceedings private because of media attention. However, the judge ruled that the proceedings would be public.
In February 2010, a judge ruled that Johnston had to pay child support. That month, Palin and her son moved into a condo she bought in Anchorage. She was working at a dermatologist's office and taking business classes. In July 2010, Palin and Johnston announced they were engaged again. But less than three weeks later, they ended their second engagement. They reached an agreement for Palin to have primary custody of Tripp. Johnston received visitation rights and was responsible for child support.
On March 13, 2015, Palin announced her engagement to Dakota Meyer. He is a former Marine and a Medal of Honor recipient. Bristol met Meyer in 2014 while filming a show with her mother. On May 18, 2015, Bristol's mother announced that the wedding had been called off.
On June 25, 2015, Palin announced she was pregnant with her second child. She said the father was Meyer. She gave birth to a daughter in December 2015. In June 2016, Palin and Meyer got married. In December 2016, Palin announced she was expecting her third child, her second with Meyer. She gave birth to another daughter in 2017.
On February 13, 2018, Palin and Meyer announced their separation. Meyer had filed for divorce. On August 1, 2018, Palin confirmed that her divorce from Meyer was finalized.
Views and Opinions
In May 2012, Palin shared her views on certain social topics. In December 2013, she supported Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson after he made comments about homosexuality. She said that people should respect different opinions.
Palin also disagreed with the 2015 name change of Mount McKinley to Denali. She wrote in a blog post that she had never called the mountain Denali.
