Britt Curtis Assombalonga (born 6 December 1992) is a professional footballer from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He plays as a forward for the Turkish club Amedspor. He also plays for the DR Congo national team. Britt has played for many teams in England, including Watford and Nottingham Forest.

Early Life and Family
Britt Assombalonga was born in Kinshasa, which was then called Zaire. When he was just eight months old, his family moved to London, England. He grew up in an area of London called Swiss Cottage.
Britt comes from a family of footballers. His father, Fedor Assombalonga, used to play for the Zaire national team. His brother, Christian, also plays football in England.
Britt's Football Journey
Starting at Watford
Britt began his football career at Watford when he was 17. He joined their youth team in 2010. In his first full season, he was the second-highest goal scorer for the youth team.
He also played often for Watford's reserve team. Because he played so well, he was given a professional contract.
Loan Spells and First Goals
To get more experience, Britt went on loan to other clubs.
- In November 2011, he joined Wealdstone. He scored his first goal for them in December. He ended up scoring 11 goals in 16 games for Wealdstone.
- Soon after, he moved to Braintree Town on loan. He scored on his very first game for them! He scored five goals in five games before Watford called him back.
Watford Debut and Southend Loan
On 17 March 2012, Britt played his first game for Watford's main team. He was the 50th player to come through Watford's youth academy and play for the senior team.

At the start of the 2012–13 season, Britt went on loan to Southend United. He quickly became a key player, scoring five goals in his first four matches. Southend kept him for the whole season. He scored 15 goals and helped Southend reach the League Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium.
Moving to Peterborough United
On 31 July 2013, Britt joined Peterborough United. They paid a lot of money for him, more than they had ever paid for a player before! The club chairman was very happy to sign him.
Britt scored a goal in his first game for Peterborough. He also scored a penalty in the 2014 Football League Trophy Final at Wembley, which Peterborough won 3–1.
Time at Nottingham Forest
In August 2014, Britt made another big move to Nottingham Forest. This was a record signing for Forest, costing around £5 million.
He quickly started scoring goals for Forest. He scored two goals in his first game and kept scoring in the next few matches. On 17 September, he scored his first hat-trick (three goals in one game) for Forest in a 5–3 win.
Injury and Comeback
In February 2015, Britt got a serious knee injury. This meant he couldn't play for a long time. He finally returned to the field in April 2016. In May, he scored his first goal since his injury.
In the 2016–17 season, Britt continued to score important goals. He helped Nottingham Forest stay in the Championship league by scoring two goals in the final game of the season. He finished as Forest's top goal scorer that season with 14 goals.
Playing for Middlesbrough
On 17 July 2017, Britt joined Middlesbrough for a club-record fee of £15 million. He scored two goals in his second game for the club. He continued to be a top scorer for Middlesbrough during his time there.
He left Middlesbrough in April 2021 when his contract ended.
Adana Demirspor and Return to Watford
In July 2021, Britt moved to Turkey to play for Adana Demirspor, a team that had just been promoted to the top league. He played there for about a year and a half.
In January 2023, Britt returned to Watford on a short contract. He scored his first goal back at the club in March 2023.
Antalyaspor and Amedspor
After his second spell at Watford, Britt played briefly for another Turkish club, Antalyaspor. He then joined his current club, Amedspor, in 2024.
International Career
Britt Assombalonga could choose to play for either England or the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He chose to play for the DR Congo.
He made his first appearance for the DR Congo national team in a friendly game against Tanzania on 27 March 2018. He scored his first international goal in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations against Zimbabwe.
