Harrah's Resort Atlantic City is a large casino hotel located in the marina area of Atlantic City, New Jersey. It is owned by Vici Properties and run by Caesars Entertainment. Harrah's is one of the biggest hotels in New Jersey.
It was the first casino to open in Atlantic City's marina district. It opened on November 22, 1980. Other casinos in the area include the Borgata and the Golden Nugget.

History of Harrah's Resort
Harrah's Atlantic City was first planned as the "Holiday Inn Marina Casino." However, during its construction, Holiday Inns bought Harrah's Corporation. Because of this, the resort was renamed Harrah's Marina Resort before it opened.
It was special because it was the first casino in Atlantic City not built on the famous boardwalk. The Waterfront Tower, one of its buildings, stands 46 stories tall.
When Harrah's opened in 1980, it had a 506-room hotel tower, now called the Coastal Tower. It quickly became the most successful casino in the city. In 1986, the Atrium Tower was added. This was due to the resort's popularity and the opening of Trump's Castle nearby.
Another expansion happened in 1997 with the Marina Tower. In 2002, the 25-story Bayview Tower opened. This also added more space for games.
The Waterfront Tower opened in 2008. It included a new pool and a spa. This helped Harrah's compete with the nearby Borgata, which opened in 2003. The Waterfront Tower is Atlantic City's second tallest building, reaching 525 feet. At night, the tower shows changing digital images. This is one of the largest outdoor LED displays in the world.
In 2016, Harrah's started updating its Bayview rooms. These renovations were finished in 2017. In 2018, the Harbour Tower was renamed the Coastal Tower and also got a full makeover. These rooms were completed by summer 2019.
In 2020, Eldorado Resorts took over Caesars Entertainment. As part of this, Vici Properties bought the Harrah's Atlantic City property. They then leased it back to the new Caesars Entertainment.

Harrah's has many different restaurants. You can find both fancy places and more casual spots. There is even a restaurant by famous chef Gordon Ramsay. The resort also has a few shops.
Fun and Entertainment
The Broadway by the Bay Theater opened in 1980. Famous performers like Debbie Reynolds and Jay Leno appeared there. Over the years, many well-known singers and comedians have performed. The theater was updated in 2007 and renamed The Concert Venue. It now seats 1200 people. Recent stars include Ron White and Patti LaBelle.

The casino also hosts professional boxing matches.
Relaxation at the Spa
Harrah's used to have the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. This spa had many rooms for treatments, jacuzzis, and saunas. It closed in 2017, but a new spa opened in 2018 for guests to enjoy.
Games to Play
Harrah's has a large area for games. This includes many slot and video poker machines. There are also many table games like blackjack and roulette. The poker room has 40 tables. It hosts a yearly World Series of Poker event. Harrah's also has a sportsbook for sports betting, which opened in 2018.

The poker room at Harrah's Atlantic City has 40 tables. It is open all day, every day. It offers many types of card games. They also host several tournaments each year. These include a WSOP circuit event and some World Poker Tour tournaments.
The Pool at Harrah's
The pool at Harrah's is under a huge glass dome. It is surrounded by palm trees and other plants. This makes it feel like a tropical getaway. The pool is warm all year round and is very popular. There is a special family pool for younger guests.
On certain nights, the main pool turns into "The Pool After Dark." It features live DJ music with artists like 50 Cent and PSY. This is a popular spot for older visitors. The pool was updated in early 2017.
Getting There
Harrah's offers a bus service called the Total Rewards Shuttle. This shuttle takes hotel guests to Caesars Atlantic City and Bally's Atlantic City. These are other properties owned by Caesars Entertainment. The shuttle runs every day from 10 AM to 11 PM.
You can also reach Harrah's using the Brigantine Connector. It is served by Route 2 and 3 of the Atlantic City Jitney Association. The casino is also accessible by rail. Free jitney buses connect to and from the Atlantic City Rail Terminal. NJ Transit Bus #501 also goes to Harrah's.
Harrah's also offers air charter service. This flies guests to Atlantic City International Airport from many cities on the East Coast. These flights often come with hotel packages.
