Brookfield is a special area, or electoral ward, within the city of Preston in Lancashire, England. It's located to the north-east of Preston's city centre, near the suburb of Ribbleton. In 2011, about 7,301 people lived in Brookfield. This area is represented by three Labour councillors on the city council. These councillors help make decisions for the local community.

What is Brookfield Like?
Brookfield is mostly a place where people live. Many of the homes are owned by families. There is also a large area with homes owned by the local council, called a council estate.
Businesses in Brookfield
The ward also has a modern business park. This park is home to the main office of Booths, which is a well-known chain of supermarkets in the region. This business area is conveniently located close to junction 31A of the M6 motorway.
Getting Around in Brookfield
The M6 motorway, a major road, runs through the Brookfield area. A new exit, called Junction 31A, was built recently. This makes it easier for people to get to and from Brookfield by car. However, you cannot get onto or off the motorway from the Lancaster direction at this junction.
Public Transport
In the past, there was a train station called Ribbleton railway station near Brookfield. However, that railway line is now closed. Today, bus services are provided by Preston Bus, helping people travel around the area and to other parts of Preston.
