Bukky Bakray (born in 2002) is a talented British actress and writer. She became famous for her very first acting role in the movie Rocks (2019).
When she was just 18, Bukky made history. She became the youngest person ever to win the BAFTA Rising Star Award. She was also one of the youngest nominees for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. In 2021, she was even featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, which highlights young, successful people.

About Bukky's Early Life and School
Bukky Bakray was born around 2002 in Hackney, a part of east London. Her parents are Christian and originally from Nigeria.
She grew up in Lower Clapton, on an estate very close to where her movie Rocks was filmed. Bukky has three brothers and a sister who lives in South Africa. For her education, she attended Clapton Girls' Academy and Cardinal Pole Catholic School.
Bukky also joined the RADA Youth Company. This is a special program for young actors. She also took part in the Originate Actor Training program at Theatre Peckham.
Bukky's Acting Career
Bukky Bakray was discovered when she was 15 years old. The director Sarah Gavron found her at school and chose her for the main role in her film Rocks. This was Bukky's first big acting job.
In 2021, Bukky started acting on television. She played a character named Bless in the BBC One series You Don't Know Me. She also wrote an essay for a book called Black Joy.
Later, in 2023, Bukky took on more roles. She played Kim in the Apple TV+ series Liaison. She also appeared as Dione in the Netflix horror movie The Strays, acting alongside Ashley Madekwe. In the same year, Bukky starred in a play called Sleepova at the Bush Theatre in London.
Bukky has an exciting upcoming role in a film called Self-Charm. This movie is directed by Ella Greenwood.
