Where is Burnett Located?
Burnett is found about 25 miles northwest of the city of Duluth. Duluth is a bigger city known for its port on Lake Superior. You can find Burnett at the crossing of Industrial Road (which is also called County Road 7) and Center Line Road.
A state highway, MN 33, is also close by. The Cloquet River flows right through the community, adding to its natural charm. Other nearby communities include Alborn, Culver, Independence, and Brookston.
A Bit of History
Burnett once had its own post office. It was opened in 1896 and served the community for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1982. The community itself was named after an important railroad official from the past.
