This was a big deal for the community. It meant people could send and receive mail right there. However, the post office eventually closed. Now, mail for Burrel goes through the nearby town of Riverdale.

By the year 1971, Burrel was a very small place. It had only 43 people living there. At that time, it had a local store and its own post office.
