Bénodet (pronounced ben-oh-day; in Breton it's Benoded) is a lovely town in Brittany, a region in north-western France. It's part of the Finistère area. The town is located about 16 kilometers (10 miles) south of Quimper. The name Benoded in Breton means "mouth of the Odet River."
Bénodet is a popular place for holidays. It has a casino, a cinema, and a marina where boats are kept. You'll also find many hotels and beautiful beaches. Because it's a coastal town, lots of people have second homes here. This means the number of people in Bénodet can grow a lot during the summer.
The town also has some interesting history. You can see ancient standing stones called menhirs. There's also a historic church dedicated to Saint Brigid of Kildare, an Irish saint from the 5th century. This church was built around the late 11th century and became a protected historic monument in 1916.
