C. J. Sanders was born on September 18, 1996. He is an American football player who plays as a wide receiver. Before becoming a football player, C. J. was also a child actor. He appeared in several movies and TV shows.

High School Football
C. J. Sanders started his high school football career at Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. He played there for three years. Later, his family moved to California. For his senior year, he went to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks.
During his senior year, C. J. was a great player. He caught 35 passes for 562 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He also ran with the ball 41 times for 437 yards, scoring nine more touchdowns. On special teams, he was amazing too. He scored four touchdowns, including two from kickoff returns and two from punt returns.
Experts at Rivals.com thought he was a top player. They called him a "four-star recruit." This means he was one of the best young players in his class. He decided to play college football at the University of Notre Dame.
Acting Career
Before his football career, C. J. Sanders was a successful child actor. One of his most famous roles was playing a young Ray Charles in the movie Ray. He also appeared in the TV show Six Feet Under. In that show, he played a character named Anthony Charles-Fisher.
C. J. also acted in the movie First Sunday. He played Durell Jr., who was the son of a character played by Ice Cube. For his role in Ray, C. J. was nominated for several awards. These included a Black Reel Award and an NAACP Image Award. He also appeared as a guest star in other TV shows like Judging Amy, Cold Case, Grey's Anatomy, and Saved.
College Football Career
Freshman Year
When C. J. started at Notre Dame, he quickly showed how good he was. He became the main punt returner for the team. Later, he also took on kick return duties.
C. J. really shined in his special teams role. In only his fourth college game, he returned a punt 50 yards for a touchdown against UMass. Later that season, he returned a kickoff 93 yards for another touchdown against Stanford.
Personal Life
C. J. comes from a family of athletes. His father, Chris Sanders, used to be a wide receiver in the NFL. His stepfather, Corey Harris, was a safety who played in the NFL for 12 seasons. C. J.'s mom, Stacie McCall Harris, was a point guard for the University of Michigan's basketball team.
C. J. also has his own non-profit organization called CJ's Gift Foundation. This foundation helps young people who are facing challenges. Its goal is to make them feel good about themselves and to give them hope. It tries to help families who might have been forgotten or missed out on chances for a better life.
