COOL Award facts for kids
The COOL Awards are super special awards for books that kids in Canberra, Australia, get to choose! It's like a big reading party where students vote for their favorite books. After all the votes are counted, the awards are given out to the winning authors and illustrators.
The name COOL is actually a clever shortcut! It stands for Canberra’s Own Outstanding List.
The ACT Public Library helps organize these awards every year. A group of people from different schools and libraries work together to make sure everything runs smoothly. The very first COOL Award was given out way back in 1991.
