Caleb Reginald McLaughlin (born October 13, 2001) is an American actor. He is best known for playing Lucas Sinclair in the popular Netflix show Stranger Things. This role made him famous around the world.

Caleb started his acting journey on Broadway. He played Young Simba in The Lion King musical. Before Stranger Things, he also had small parts in TV shows. After his big break, he acted in movies like High Flying Bird (2019) and Concrete Cowboy (2020). Concrete Cowboy was his first main role in a movie. He has also done voice acting for animated shows.

About Caleb's Life

Caleb McLaughlin was born in Carmel, New York. His parents are April and Corey McLaughlin. He went to Kent Primary School. For one year, he attended George Fischer Middle School.

Caleb also studied dance for a year at Happy Feet Dance School. Later, he went to Seven Star School of Performing Arts for a year. He then studied at The Harlem School of the Arts. There, he learned from Aubrey Lynch, who used to produce Lion King.

Caleb's Acting Journey

Caleb's very first acting job was in an opera called Lost in the Stars. He was a child at the time. His first big role was on Broadway. He played Young Simba in The Lion King musical from 2012 to 2014.

After that, he appeared in TV shows as a guest star. These included Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Unforgettable. In 2016, Caleb got his most famous role. He started playing Lucas Sinclair in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.

In 2017, he was nominated for a BET YoungStars Award. In 2018, he won an award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth at the NAACP Image Awards. Caleb made his first movie appearance in 2020. It was in Concrete Cowboy, where he starred with Idris Elba. The movie got mixed reviews. In December 2020, Caleb was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30. This list highlights young people doing great things in Hollywood. In 2024, it was announced he might play a younger version of rapper 21 Savage in a movie. However, 21 Savage later said it was a "parody" announcement.

Making a Difference

Caleb McLaughlin has started social media campaigns. These include #EmbraceYourFace and #BeYourBiggestFan. These campaigns encourage people to feel good about themselves. They promote positive body image and self-esteem. Caleb believes it's important to love yourself first. He said, "Feeling good about yourself is healthy. It always starts with you first...
