Her Early Life

From a young age, Candela loved to entertain people. She enjoyed pretending to be a famous Argentine tango singer named Libertad Lamarque. She also loved to read poems aloud by García Lorca, a very important Spanish writer.

Candela studied Communications at the University of Buenos Aires. She hoped this would help her use her many skills in a career. When she was 18, she started working on a live TV show called Domingo Total. She also reported on entertainment for another show called De Boca en Boca. For two years, she hosted a show about women's topics and celebrity interviews in Argentina.

Her TV Career

In 1999, Candela Ferro moved to the United States. She wanted to become a journalist and a TV presenter there. In 2000, her career took a big step forward. She was asked to work for Telemundo as a writer, producer, and presenter.

Since joining Telemundo, Candela has hosted many important events. She hosted the Latin Billboard Music Awards several times (in 2001, 2004, 2005, and 2006). Millions of people around the world watch this event. She also hosted the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for Telemundo for four years. She was also the host for the Miss Universe Pageant from 2003 to 2009 in different countries.

In 2002, Candela hosted the INTE Awards in Miami. These awards celebrate the Spanish Television Industry. She also hosted the Golden Globe Awards in Spanish.

In 2003, she was nominated as the Best Female Presenter of the Year at the INTE Awards. This showed how good she was at her job.

Candela hosted the Hispanic Heritage Awards in 2004. She also hosted the Premio de la Gente in Los Angeles three times.

In 2005, she hosted a live special about the wedding of Charles and Camilla for E! Entertainment Latin America. She also interviewed Ricky Martin for a special show called "Ricky Martin en Candela."

From 2007 to 2008, Candela hosted a special weekend version of Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo. This show was called Al Rojo Vivo: Fin de Semana con Candela Ferro.

Candela also interviewed famous actors Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. This was for Warner Channel Latin America, to promote their movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".

In 2006, Candela started her own show on E! Entertainment Latin America. It was called Mil Preguntas Una Estrella Con Candela Ferro. On this show, she interviewed many famous people. Some of them included Penélope Cruz, Jennifer López, Javier Bardem, Ricky Martin, Thalía, Paulina Rubio, Gloria Trevi, Daddy Yankee, Enrique Iglesias, Belinda, Alejandro Fernández, and Alejandra Guzmán. These interviews showed her skill as a curious and wise interviewer.
