Canimals (which means "can-animals") is a fun TV show from Britain, South Korea, and Spain. It mixes live-action scenes with cool computer animation. The show was created by Voozclub Co., Ltd.
The main characters are cute creatures like Ato, Mimi, Uly, Fizzy, Nia, Oz, Pow, Toki, and Leon. These characters are known for being curious and getting into funny situations. The series has been shown in the United Kingdom on CITV and around the world on the ITV Network. People generally like the show for its new ideas and good quality.

What are Canimals?
Canimals are super cute creatures that look like animals but live inside colorful cans. They are always curious about everything happening around them. When humans are nearby, they quickly hide back in their cans. Even everyday objects seem new and exciting to the Canimals!
Meet the Canimals: Main Characters
Here are some of the main Canimals you'll see in the show:
- Ato - A beagle dog who lives in a can. He often shows up on the episode title cards.
- Oz - A smart white cat in a can. She sometimes gets into trouble but is clever enough to get out of it.
- Uly - A hungry pug dog in a can. He loves to eat everything he sees without thinking twice!
- Mimi - A bossy poodle in a can. She sometimes uses her long ears to bother the other Canimals.
- Pow - A great owl in a can. He can shoot laser waves from his eyes and even carry other Canimals with his claws.
- Fizzy - A Siamese cat in a can. He dreams of being a ninja, but his plans often go wrong.
- Toki - A super energetic rabbit in a can. He loves to dance when music plays and can't stay still.
- Nia - A shy and gentle kitten in a can. When she gets scared or angry, she can let out a loud sonic scream.
- Leon - A chameleon in a can. He can turn invisible and use his long tongue to grab things.

The Canimals meet many other interesting characters, including:
- Woo-ang - A happy bull terrier dog.
- Peng and Gwen - A penguin brother and sister.
- Boco - A giant squirrel who leads the Cocoboses. He loves nuts!
- Wooga - A gorilla who likes cats but not dogs. He can get very loud when angry.
- Koby - A turtle who doesn't like spicy food. He can be kind, grumpy, or happy.
- Pip - A black and white cat who is sometimes Ato's friend, sometimes his enemy.
- Olive - A brown skunk who falls in love with a sock puppet.

Season 2 Season 2 continues the adventures of the Canimals. Here are some of the things they get up to:
- The Canimals swim in an aquarium, blow bubbles, and get stuck in a clay vase.
- They make things from recycled materials and ride a toy glider.
- The Canimals produce their own movie and solve a mirror mystery.
- They play with dominoes and make music with raindrops.
- The Canimals do science experiments and have fun with their shadows.
- They look at stars through a telescope and fly kites.
- They protect Christmas presents and try to enjoy Halloween.
- Oz invents a ray gun, and Fizzy and Leon practice martial arts.
- Uly cooks in the kitchen, and Oz tries to tell the squirrels apart.
- Mimi's friends throw her a unique birthday party.
- Nia becomes friends with a frozen gorilla.
- The gorilla is lured back to the jungle.
- The Canimals join Toki for a dance party.
Canimals Around the World
BRB International helps manage the show's rights in Spain and Portugal. This means they help decide where and how the show is seen there.
The series was also available on Netflix from November 2015 until June 2019. In France, Canal+ managed the show's rights, and it aired on TeleTOON+.

Toys
The Japanese toy company Tomy released a range of Canimals toys across Europe. These included soft plush toys, figures, electronic games, art and craft kits, and capsule toys.
A Korean company called Academy Plastic Model Co., Ltd. also released their own line of Canimals toys in 2015. This included vinyl figures and plastic model kits.
Other Products
Samsonite, a company known for luggage, released Canimals travel bags in 2012. So you could travel with your favorite Canimals!
Digital Fun
UK Website
The official Canimals website for the UK launched on July 7, 2012. Aardman, the company that distributed the show in the UK, helped create it. The website had video clips, games, and things you could download. It was shut down in 2019.
Mobile Apps
Many Canimals mobile apps were released between 2011 and 2012. By April 2013, these apps had been downloaded about 3.8 million times! Most of these apps, except for "Canimals Golf," are no longer available.

You could also play Canimals games online.
Flash Games
The Canimals website had fun Flash games for fans to play. Since the website closed in 2019, these games can no longer be played.
Facebook Games
Cantasia was a game on Facebook, a popular social media site. It came out in November 2012 and was made by Playplus. In the game, players could create their own "Cantasia World." It even had a mini-game called "Canimals Match 3," which later became a separate app for Samsung phones. Cantasia was the first time the Canimals brand was introduced in the United States. The game is no longer available.
Awards and Recognition
Canimals has won some cool awards!
- In 2010, it won "Best for Kids 7–10" at the Kids' Jury event.
- It was also nominated for the Licensing Challenge at MIPJR 2010.
- At MIPCOM Junior 2009, it came in 2nd place out of over 1,000 entries and won the "Best Animation Award."
- In 2011, it received the Grand Prize (President Award) at the Korean Content Awards.
Home Video Releases
In the UK, you could buy Canimals on DVD. ITV Studios Home Entertainment released "Volume 1" on January 29, 2011.
