Cardonal de Panilonco, often called just Panilonco, is a small village in Chile. It is located north of Pichilemu, in the Cardenal Caro Province. In 2002, about 852 people lived there in 235 homes.
Meaning of the Name
The name Panilonco comes from the Mapudungun language. This language is spoken by the Mapuche people, who are native to parts of Chile and Argentina. In Mapudungun, the word pañil means "metal." The word lonco means "head." So, Panilonco means "metal head."
