Carly Chaikin (born in 1989 or 1990) is an American actress. She started her acting career in 2009. Two years later, she got her first big role as Dalia Royce in the ABC show Suburgatory. She played this character until the show ended in 2014. A year later, she began playing Darlene in the USA Network thriller show Mr. Robot.

Early Life and Education
Carly Chaikin was born in Santa Monica, California. Her father is a heart doctor and her mother is a therapist. She grew up in a Jewish family and has one sister.
She went to The Archer School for Girls and the New Roads School. While in school, she played many sports. These included volleyball, softball, basketball, and soccer.
Acting Career
Starting Out (2009–2011)
Carly knew she wanted to be an actress when she was 11 years old. During high school, she decided not to go to college right away. Instead, she focused on acting.
In 2009, Carly got the role of Veronica in the movie The Consultants. It came out in the US in December 2010. That same year, Carly also starred with Miley Cyrus in the movie The Last Song. This movie was based on a book by Nicholas Sparks. Carly played Blaze, a character who caused trouble for Ronnie, played by Miley Cyrus.
Television Roles and Suburgatory (2011–2014)
In 2011, Carly Chaikin was cast as Dalia Oprah Royce in the ABC show Suburgatory. She acted alongside Jeremy Sisto and Cheryl Hines. Carly's character, Dalia, was the "mean girl" to Jane Levy's character, Tessa. Everyone loved Carly's acting in this role. She quickly became a fan favorite, and her performance was a popular part of the show. Carly had originally tried out for the role of Tessa.
Carly also wrote articles as her character, Dalia, for Parade magazine. As Dalia, she even made a music video called "You Missed A Spot." In 2013, Carly was nominated for an award for her role in Suburgatory. People even thought she might win an Emmy award. The show finished its run in May 2014.
Carly also appeared in the 2012 independent movie My Uncle Rafael. John Michael Higgins starred in that film.
Besides acting, Carly Chaikin also writes and produces short films. Two of her films are Happy F***ing Birthday and Nowhere to Go. Nowhere to Go won an award at the First Glance Film Festival in 2013.
Mr. Robot and Other Projects (2014–2019)
In September 2014, Carly Chaikin was cast in the USA Network TV show Mr. Robot. She starred with Rami Malek (who played Elliot) and Christian Slater (who played Mr. Robot). Carly played Darlene, a computer programmer. Darlene was a main character in the show and part of a group called fsociety. She wrote special computer code that caused problems. Carly tried out for both the roles of Angela and Darlene. She said she loved the script and how tough the Darlene character was.
Mr. Robot was very popular and received many good reviews. At the 2015 SXSW film festival, the show won an award from the audience for TV shows. Carly was a main character for all four seasons of Mr. Robot.

While working on Mr. Robot, Carly also appeared in three independent movies. These were the thriller Bad Blood (2015), the comedy People You May Know (2017), and the romantic comedy Social Animals (2018). She also filmed the movie Last Moment of Clarity, which came out in 2020. In 2015, Carly was a guest star on Marc Maron's TV show, Maron. In 2019, she was in an episode of Hulu's horror show Into the Dark. Carly has also been a guest judge on the TV show Project Runway two times.
Recent Work (2020s)
In February 2021, it was announced that Carly Chaikin was creating her own TV show called Messy with Miramax TV. Carly is writing the show, starring in it, and also helping to run the production with producer Liz Brizius.
Personal Life
Carly Chaikin is also a painter. She mostly uses acrylics and oil paints, and sometimes mixes in other materials for collages. Even though she took painting classes when she was younger, Carly says she mostly taught herself how to paint.
In 2012, she had 11 tattoos. One of them has song lyrics by Bob Dylan.
Carly is involved with a charity called National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This group helps people and families affected by mental illness. She hosted NAMIWalks events in both 2016 and 2017. She also raised money for the group and helped match donations. She has recorded public service announcements to support NAMI.
On September 3, 2018, Carly Chaikin announced that she was engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Ryan Bunnell, who is a television director. They got married in November 2021 and lived in Los Angeles. In February 2023, Ryan Bunnell filed for divorce from Carly.
