Carmen Soo (born Soo Wai Ming; 14 October 1977) is a famous Malaysian model and actress. She has appeared in many TV shows and movies in Malaysia, the Philippines, and other countries. Carmen is known for her roles in TV dramas and for being a brand ambassador for several companies.

About Carmen Soo
Carmen Soo grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her father is Chinese, and her mother is half-Chinese and half-British. Carmen studied business management. She can speak Malay, Cantonese, and English very well. She also learned some Tagalog to help with her acting career in the Philippines.
In 2015, Carmen married Benson Tan in Bali. They have one daughter together. Today, she lives with her family in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Carmen's Modeling Career
Carmen Soo started modeling when she was 17 years old. At 20, she moved to Hong Kong to continue her modeling work. Her career has taken her all over Asia, including Singapore.
Even though she is 156 cm (about 5 feet 1 inch) tall, which is shorter than typical runway models, she has done a lot of print and TV commercials. Carmen has been on the covers of many local magazines like New Man and GLAM. She also represents the international watch brand Longines. She is also a brand ambassador for Uniqlo Malaysia.
Carmen's Acting Journey
Carmen's acting career began in 1999. She had a small role in the Jackie Chan movie Gorgeous. Later, she appeared in a musical special with Aaron Kwok.
In 2008, Carmen starred in a TV drama called Kahit Isang Saglit. This show was a team-up between a Philippine company (ABS-CBN) and a Malaysian company (Double Vision). It was shown in the Philippines, Malaysia, and to Filipino viewers around the world. The show was even nominated for an International Emmy Award!
Carmen continued to act in many TV shows and movies. In 2010, she was in a four-part TV series called Your Song: Beautiful Girl. She also starred in the Malaysian horror film The Hunter 3D. Carmen also appeared in HBO Asia's Dead Mine and the Singaporean horror film Ghost Child.
More recently, you might have seen her in the popular movie Crazy Rich Asians in 2018. She also had a role in the 2022 movie Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa.
Carmen as a Host
Besides acting and modeling, Carmen Soo has also been a TV host. In 2009, she was a judge on the Philippine TV show It's Showtime. In 2010, she became a co-host on another popular show called Wowowee. She also appeared as a guest judge on The Apartment Style Edition in 2012. In 2017, she was a host and judge on Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 5.
