Carmen Essam Soliman, known by her stage name Carmen Suleiman, is a talented singer from Egypt. She was born on October 7, 1994. Carmen became famous after winning the first season of the TV show Arab Idol in 2012.
Carmen's Journey to Stardom
Carmen Suleiman's big break came in 2012. She won the first season of a popular singing competition. The show was called Arab Idol. It was broadcast live on MBC 1. Winning the contest meant she got a special contract to record music. This contract was with Platinum Records.
During Arab Idol, Carmen went through many tough rounds. She performed in front of famous judges. These judges included Ragheb Alama, Nancy Ajram, Ahlam, and music producer Hassan El Shafei. Carmen competed against 20 other singers. On March 24, 2012, she won the show. She received the highest number of votes.
Music and Other Projects
Carmen released her first song, "Kalam Kalam", on March 4, 2013. This song quickly became very popular. It jumped to the number one spot on the Egyptian music charts. Her first full music album came out in January 2014.
After her first album, Carmen released many more hit songs. Some of these include "Akhbari" and "Azama Ala Azama". The song "Azama Ala Azama" was a special trio. She sang it with fellow Idol contestants, Dounia Batma and Youssef Arafat.
Besides singing her own songs, Carmen also lent her voice to a famous movie. She was the singing voice of Moana in the Arabic version of the Disney film. This showed her versatility as an artist.
