Carmen Essam Soliman (Arabic: كارمن عصام سليمان‎; born on 7 October 1994), known as Carmen Suleiman (Arabic: كارمن سليمان‎), is a talented Egyptian singer. She became famous after winning a big singing competition.

Carmen Suleiman's Journey to Stardom

Carmen Suleiman started her music career in a big way. In 2012, she won the very first season of the TV show Arab Idol. This show was a singing contest broadcast live on MBC 1. Winning the show meant she got a special contract to record her music with Platinum Records.

Winning Arab Idol

The Arab Idol contest had many tough rounds. Carmen competed against 20 other singers. Famous judges like Ragheb Alama, Nancy Ajram, Ahlam, and music producer Hassan El Shafei watched and judged the performances. Carmen won the competition on March 24, 2012, by getting the most votes from viewers.

Her Music and Other Projects

After her big win, Carmen released her first song, "Kalam Kalam", on March 4, 2013. This song quickly became very popular in Egypt. Her first full music album came out in January 2014.

Carmen has also used her voice for other exciting projects. She was the singing voice for the character Moana in the Arabic version of the popular Disney movie.
