Carrington is a small city in Foster County, North Dakota, in the United States. It's known as the "Central City" because of its location. Carrington is also the main town, or county seat, of Foster County.

In 2020, about 2,080 people lived here. The city was officially started in 1883. Carrington is home to the Dakota Growers Pasta Company, Inc, which makes pasta!

History

Carrington was planned out in 1882 by a person named M. D. Carrington. The city was named after him. Since 1883, Carrington has been the county seat, which means it's where the county government is located. A post office has also been open in Carrington since 1883.

Carrington is located in North Dakota. It covers a total area of about 2.11 square miles (about 5.46 square kilometers). All of this area is land.

Carrington is easy to reach because several major highways pass through it. These include US 52, US 281, and ND 200. These highways help people travel north, south, east, and west.

The city also has train services. Both the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Red River Valley and Western Railroad serve Carrington.
