This mountain is found in a beautiful part of Peru. It lies to the southeast of a town called Huaraz. If you look southwest from Huantsán mountain, you'll see Cashan. It's also west of Uruashraju and northeast of Shacsha, surrounded by other amazing peaks.

The name Cashan or Kashan might come from the Quechua language. In Quechua, the word kasha means "thorn" or "spine." The suffix -n is often added to words. So, the name could describe the mountain's sharp, spiky appearance. It's also known by another name, Tijeraspunta.
