Geography of Cave Springs
Cave Springs is in the southern part of Benton County. It sits in a valley near Osage Creek.
You can reach Cave Springs by following Arkansas Highway 112. This highway goes north about 8 miles to Bentonville. It also goes south about 16 miles to Fayetteville. Another road, Arkansas Highway 264, goes east about 6 miles to Lowell. If you go west on Highway 264 (which becomes Healing Springs Road), you'll reach the Northwest Arkansas National Airport in about 5 miles.
The city covers about 7.8 square miles of land. A small part, about 0.05 square miles, is water.
Lake Keith and the Ozark Cavefish
A special place in Cave Springs is Lake Keith. This small lake is home to a very rare fish called the Ozark cavefish (Amblyopsis rosae). Water from Lake Keith flows into Osage Creek. Osage Creek then joins the Illinois River.
