Cedar Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Nipissing District of Ontario, Canada. It is entirely inside Algonquin Provincial Park, a very large and famous park. Cedar Lake is a popular spot for people who love to go canoeing and explore the park's wild areas.

The lake is part of the huge Saint Lawrence River drainage basin. This means that all the water flowing out of Cedar Lake eventually makes its way to the Saint Lawrence River.

Exploring Cedar Lake

Cedar Lake is a great starting point for many adventures. It's easy to get to because the small community of Brent is right on the lake. Brent is connected by Brent Road to Ontario Highway 17, a major road.

Towns Around the Lake

Besides Brent, there are a couple of other small places on Cedar Lake. These include Acanthus and Government Park. These spots are often used by visitors entering the park.

How Water Flows In and Out

Cedar Lake gets its water from two main rivers. The Nipissing River and the Petawawa River both flow into the lake from the west side.

The water then flows out of Cedar Lake through the Petawawa River on the east side. There is a special structure called a weir that helps control how much water flows out. The Petawawa River then continues its journey until it joins the much larger Ottawa River.
