Celina is a small city located in Tennessee, United States. It is the main town, also known as the county seat, of Clay County. In 2010, about 1,495 people lived there. By 2020, the population was 1,422.

History of Celina
Celina was founded in the 1800s. It was named after Celina Fisk Christian, the daughter of an early settler and teacher named Moses Fisk.
In the late 1800s, Celina became a busy town because of logging. Trees were cut down in nearby forests and floated down the Obey River to Celina. This helped the town grow and prosper. However, in 1878, many African American residents faced difficult challenges and left Celina.
Geography of Celina
Celina is located in the middle of Clay County. It sits in a wide valley surrounded by hills. These hills are part of the eastern Highland Rim, a type of plateau.
Rivers and Lakes in Celina
The city is where two important rivers meet: the Cumberland River and the Obey River. Both of these rivers are now part of Cordell Hull Lake. This lake was formed by the Cordell Hull Dam, located southwest of Celina. Another large lake, Dale Hollow Lake, is also nearby on the Obey River, just east of Celina.
Roads and Transportation
Several main roads pass through Celina. Tennessee State Route 52 connects Celina to towns like Red Boiling Springs and Lafayette to the west. It also goes to Livingston to the southeast.
Tennessee State Route 53 also runs through Celina. It goes southwest along the Cumberland River to Gainesboro. To the northeast, it crosses into Kentucky and becomes Kentucky Route 61, heading towards Burkesville.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Celina covers an area of about 4.4 square kilometers (or 1.84 square miles). All of this area is land.

Celina has a climate with hot and humid summers. The winters are usually mild to cool. This type of weather is called a humid subtropical climate. On climate maps, it is often shown as "Cfa."
