Maurice James McCarver, known as Celly Cel, is an American rapper. He comes from Vallejo, California. He started his music career in 1992. His first song was "Lifestyle of a Mack." He released it on his own record label, Realside Records.

Celly Cel released his first album, Heat 4 Yo Azz, in 1994. Two years later, he released his second album, Killa Kali. In 1996, he was part of a special album called America is Dying Slowly. This album featured many famous hip hop artists. It was praised by The Source magazine.

His third album, The G Filez, came out in 1998. Then, in 2000, he released Deep Conversation. Celly Cel has often worked with other rappers from the Bay Area. These include E-40 and B-Legit.
