Centerville is a small city in Turner County, South Dakota, United States. In 2020, about 918 people lived there. Centerville is also part of the larger Sioux Falls, South Dakota metropolitan area.

History of Centerville
Centerville was officially planned and marked out in 1883. It got its name because it was located right in the middle of two other towns: Parker and Vermillion.
In 2003, a very strong tornado hit the area around Centerville. It was an F-2 tornado, which means its winds reached up to 135 miles per hour. This tornado caused damage in the city and nearby areas. Luckily, no one was hurt or killed. On that same day, 19 other tornadoes also touched down within 50 miles of Centerville.
