The Central Bosnia Canton (also called Srednjobosanski kanton in Bosnian and Županija Središnja Bosna in Croatian) is one of the ten cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A canton is like a special region or state within a larger country. This canton is located right in the middle of Bosnia and Herzegovina, west of the capital city, Sarajevo. The main city and government center of this canton is Travnik.
In 2013, about 273,149 people lived in the Central Bosnia Canton. This means there were about 85 people living in every square kilometer. The canton was officially established on June 12, 1996.
