Chandler Carlton Riggs (born June 27, 1999) is an American actor and musician. He is best known for playing Carl Grimes on the TV show The Walking Dead. This popular show is about a world filled with zombies. Chandler was on the show from 2010 to 2018.

For his acting on The Walking Dead, Chandler won several awards. He received three Saturn Awards and one Young Artist Award. Besides acting, Chandler also makes electronic music under the name Eclipse. He started releasing music in late 2017. In 2019, he also joined the TV show A Million Little Things.

Early Life and First Roles

Chandler Riggs was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 27, 1999. His parents are Gina Ann and William Riggs. When he was younger, Chandler learned tap dancing. He even studied with a dancer from the show So You Think You Can Dance.

Chandler started acting when he was only four years old. His first acting jobs were in plays like The Wizard of Oz. In that play, he was a Munchkin. He also performed in Oklahoma at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. When he was five, he acted in a small horror movie called Jesus H. Zombie.

In 2009, when he was nine, Chandler got his first roles in bigger movies. He played Tom in the film Get Low. He also appeared in a TV movie called The Wronged Man. In this movie, he played a seven-year-old boy named Ryan Gregory. He acted alongside actress Julia Ormond in that film.

Becoming Famous on The Walking Dead

In 2010, when Chandler was 10 years old, he got his biggest role. He was cast as Carl Grimes in the TV series The Walking Dead. This show is based on a popular comic book series. Chandler had worked before with one of the show's producers, Gale Anne Hurd.

The Walking Dead is about a world after an apocalypse. Chandler's character, Carl, is the son of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). The show follows Rick and his group as they try to survive. They face many dangers, including zombies and other humans who can be even more dangerous. The show became very successful and was watched by many people.

Chandler and the other main actors on The Walking Dead won an award in 2012. They received the Satellite Award for Best Cast in a Television Series. Chandler also won the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series three times. He won in 2014, 2016, and 2018. In 2014, he also won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series.

In 2017, Chandler used his voice for a special episode of Robot Chicken. It was called "The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking." He played Carl Grimes again in this voice role.

Chandler's character, Carl, left The Walking Dead in late 2017. His last episode aired on February 10, 2018.

Other Projects and Music

After The Walking Dead, Chandler continued acting in movies. He appeared in the thriller film Mercy in 2014. He was also in the horror movie Keep Watching in 2017.

In 2017, Chandler started working as a DJ at different events. He also began releasing his own music. His first song, "Hold on," came out in December 2017. He uses the stage name "Eclipse" for his music.

In 2019, Chandler acted in two more films. He played Cooper in the crime thriller film Inherit the Viper. He also starred in the science fiction thriller movie Only. In January 2019, Chandler joined the TV show A Million Little Things. He played a character named Patrick "PJ" Nelson for several episodes. He returned for the show's second season.
