The Story of Charbonnel et Walker
Charbonnel et Walker began in 1875 in London. A French chocolate maker named Virginie Eugenie Lévy (Charbonnel) teamed up with Minnie Walker. They were encouraged by Prince Albert, who later became King Edward VII.
The two women started their business as "Parisian Confectioners and Bon-Bon Manufacturers." This means they made French-style sweets and chocolates. After a few years, Minnie Walker continued the business on her own.

Charbonnel et Walker has a special connection to the British Royal Family. They hold a Royal Warrant as Chocolate Manufacturers to the Queen. This means they are official suppliers of chocolates to the Royal Household. It's a big honor for a company!
Where the Chocolates are Made
For many years, Charbonnel et Walker made their chocolates in a factory in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. However, in 2018, they moved their production. Now, their delicious chocolates are made in Poundbury, Dorset. Their main shop is still in the Royal Arcade in Bond Street, London. This is very close to where they first started.
