Chase Tang (born Chia-Hao Tang on August 24, 1988) is a Taiwanese-Canadian actor. He is best known for playing a supervillain in the Netflix series Jupiter's Legacy.

After getting a business degree from the University of Guelph, Tang decided to leave his office job to become an actor. He started his acting career in 2017. Besides acting, Tang also works to raise awareness about important topics like mental health and climate change.

From Hockey to Acting

Chase Tang was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He has two older brothers. When he was a young boy in 1992, his family moved to Bedford, a town in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Growing up, Tang loved playing ice hockey. He was a talented player and even played for a top-level youth team in Nova Scotia. He went to Sir John A. Macdonald High School. Later, he studied business at the University of Guelph and graduated in 2016.

At first, Tang worked in the business world, but he felt like it wasn't the right path for him. He decided to make a big change and follow a new dream: acting. He took his first acting class in 2016 and continued to train hard. In 2017, he began appearing in his first films.

Career on Screen

Tang's first acting job was in a TV commercial. He then had a small part in the TV show Designated Survivor. After that, he acted in several short films and television shows.

His big break came when he was cast as the supervillain Baryon in the Netflix show Jupiter's Legacy. This was his first major role and introduced him to a worldwide audience.

Besides acting, Tang is a brand ambassador for the clothing company TITIKA Active Couture. He is also a global spokesperson for the drink brand Presotea.

Speaking Out for Good Causes

Tang uses his fame to help others. He often speaks about the importance of mental health and encourages people to talk openly about their feelings.

He also cares about the environment. He was part of the UN Environment Programme's "World Is In Our Hands" campaign. This project, run by the United Nations, helps teach people about climate change and what they can do to help protect the planet.

In 2023, Tang showed his support for Mitzie Hunter, who was running for mayor of Toronto in a special election.
