Chaske Spencer is an American actor known for his roles in movies and TV shows. He became very popular for playing Sam Uley, a werewolf, in Twilight films from 2009 to 2012. More recently, he was nominated for a big award, a British Academy Television Award, for his acting in the TV series The English in 2022.
Spencer has also appeared in many other films like Shouting Secrets (2011), Winter in the Blood (2013), and Wild Indian (2021). On television, he had important roles in series such as Banshee (2014–2016), Sneaky Pete (2017–2018), and Blindspot (2019–2020).

Chaske Spencer was born in Oklahoma, a state in the U.S. He grew up in different places, including Montana and several towns in Idaho like Kooskia, Lapwai, and Lewiston, Idaho. He has two younger sisters.
Chaske has a rich family background. His heritage includes Lakota, Nez Perce, Cherokee, Muscogee, French, and Dutch roots. He is officially part of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of Montana through his mother's side.
Chaske's School Days
Chaske Spencer finished high school at Clearwater Valley High School in 1994. When he was a young teenager, he started acting in plays at the Lewiston Civic Theater. After high school, he went to Lewis–Clark State College for about a year. He thought about becoming a photographer, but he eventually left college to focus on his dream of becoming an actor.
Chaske Spencer's Acting Career
Before becoming a well-known actor, Chaske Spencer worked different jobs while taking acting classes. His first movie role was in 2002 in a film called Skins. After that, he appeared in other projects like Dreamkeeper and the TV miniseries Into the West.
Becoming a Star in Twilight
In 2009, Chaske Spencer got a big break when he played werewolf Sam Uley in New Moon. This was the second movie in the super popular Twilight series, based on Stephenie Meyer's books. He continued to play Sam Uley in the next Twilight movies: Eclipse, Breaking Dawn – Part 1, and Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Chaske Spencer has won awards for his acting. He received two Best Actor awards at the American Indian Film Festival for his roles in Shouting Secrets (2011) and Winter in the Blood (2013). He also appeared in the 2014 film Desert Cathedral.
On television, he played Deputy Billy Raven in the series Banshee from 2015 to 2016. In 2017, he was in the movie Woman Walks Ahead and had a recurring role as Chayton Dockery in the Amazon Prime series Sneaky Pete. Later, he played Dominic Masters in the crime drama Blindspot on NBC.
In 2021, Spencer starred in the thriller film Wild Indian, which earned him a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.
