Where Does the Cheepay River Begin?
Every river starts somewhere! The Cheepay River begins in an area called muskeg. Muskeg is a type of wetland or bog where the ground is very soft and spongy. It's often covered with moss and small plants. This wet environment is where the river's journey starts.

From its beginning in the muskeg, the Cheepay River flows in a specific direction. It first travels northeast, then turns and flows north. This path takes its waters towards its final destination.

The Cheepay River doesn't flow directly into the ocean. Instead, it joins a much larger river called the Albany River. The place where two rivers meet is called a "mouth" or "confluence."
