Chevy Chase Section Three is in the southern part of Montgomery County. It shares borders with other towns. To the west is the town of Chevy Chase. To the north is Chevy Chase Section Five. Martin's Additions is to the east. Chevy Chase Village is to the south.
The village is less than a mile from Washington, D.C. It is about five miles northwest of downtown Washington. The village is quite small. It covers about 0.12 square miles (0.30 square kilometers) of land. It's located in the area where water flows into Rock Creek. There are 280 homes in Section Three. The Chevy Chase United Methodist Church is also located there.
