Chippis is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the Valais area, specifically in the Sierre district.
Chippis is found on the left side of the Rhone river. It is a part of the beautiful canton of Valais.

History
Chippis has a long history! It was first written about in the 11th century. Back then, it was known by a different name, Sepils.
Geography
Chippis covers an area of about 2 square kilometers (which is about 0.77 square miles). Imagine a square with sides just over 1.4 kilometers long – that's roughly the size!
Most of the land in Chippis is covered by forests. About 59% of the area is thick woodland. Another big part, about 24%, is used for buildings and roads. This includes homes, shops, and places where people work.
A smaller part, about 5.6%, is used for farming. This land helps grow food or feed animals. There are also some rivers and lakes, making up about 3.5% of the area. The rest of the land is not used for anything, maybe because it's too rocky.
