Chris Carr, born on March 12, 1974, is a former professional basketball player from America. He is now an assistant basketball coach at Drury University. During his time as a player, Chris was famous for competing in the 1997 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He even reached the final round, where he competed against the legendary Kobe Bryant.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Chris Carr grew up in Ironton, Missouri. He went to Arcadia Valley High School and played basketball there.
College Basketball Career
Chris played college basketball for the Southern Illinois Salukis. He was part of the team from 1992 to 1995.
Winning Championships
During his college years, Chris helped his team win the MVC Tournament championship. They won in both 1994 and 1995. He was also chosen for the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament All-Tournament Team in both of those years.
Top College Player
In 1995, Chris was named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. He was also the top scorer in the Missouri Valley Conference that year, averaging 22.0 points per game. Because of his amazing performance, he was also named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year in 1995.
Hall of Fame Honor
In 2006, Chris Carr was honored for his great college career. He was inducted into the Southern Illinois Salukis Hall of Fame.
Professional Basketball Career
Chris Carr was chosen by the Phoenix Suns in the 1995 1995 NBA draft. He was the 56th player picked overall.
Playing in the NBA
Chris played for six seasons in the NBA. He played for several teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, and Boston Celtics.
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA, Chris played professional basketball in other countries. He played for AEK Athens in the Greek Basket League. He also played for Lavovi 063 in the Serbian and Montenegrin League.
Coaching Career
After he stopped playing professional basketball, Chris Carr became a basketball coach.
Starting a Training Academy
In 2003, Chris started his own basketball training academy. It was called 43 Hoops and was located in Hopkins, Minnesota.
High School Coaching
From 2010 to 2015, Chris was the head coach for the girls' varsity team at Eden Prairie High School. His team had a great record, winning 106 games and losing only 34.
College Coaching
After coaching high school, Chris became an assistant coach.
- From 2015 to 2021, he worked with the Kansas State Women's Wildcats team.
- In 2021, he became an assistant coach for the Drury Men's Panthers team, where he still coaches today.
