Chris Terreri (born November 15, 1964) is an American ice hockey coach and former player. He was a goaltender (the player who stops the puck from going into the net) in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 14 seasons. He played most of his career with the New Jersey Devils.
Chris also played for the San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks, and New York Islanders. He won two Stanley Cup championships with the Devils. These big wins happened in 1995 and 2000. In 2018, he was honored by being added to the Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame.

Playing Career: From College to the NHL
Chris Terreri was chosen by the New Jersey Devils in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 85th player picked overall. Before joining the NHL, he played college hockey at Providence College. He played there from 1982 to 1986.
In 1985, he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Hockey East tournament. His team won a tough game against Boston College. He was also the MVP of the 1985 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship. Even though his team lost the final game, he played incredibly well.
Chris is famous for winning two Stanley Cups with the New Jersey Devils. He won his first Cup in 1995 and his second in 2000. During his career, he played for several NHL teams. These included the Devils, San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks, and New York Islanders. He was known for wearing a unique goalie mask.
Coaching Career: Sharing His Skills
After his playing career, Chris Terreri became a coach. In 2001, he started as an assistant coach for the Albany River Rats. This team was a farm team for the New Jersey Devils. A farm team helps younger players develop their skills.
During the 2005–06 season, Chris even played in a professional game again! He made 27 saves in two periods for the River Rats. This was his first time playing since the 2000–01 season.
On July 8, 2017, Chris left his job as the goaltending coach for the New Jersey Devils. Soon after, on August 23, 2017, he joined the New York Islanders. There, he became a goaltending development coach. This means he helps young goalies improve their game.
Personal Life
Chris Terreri was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He grew up in a nearby town called Warwick. He is married to Jennifer, and they have two daughters named Celia Rose and Jillian Jayne.
