Christine Diane Teigen (born November 30, 1985) is an American model, TV star, and author. She first became famous as a model in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2010. In 2014, she was on the cover of the 50th-anniversary issue with Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge.

Chrissy Teigen has also been a host on TV shows like Lip Sync Battle and a judge on Bring the Funny. She even co-hosted a fun court show called Chrissy's Court with her mom. Besides her TV work, she has written three popular cookbooks.

Early Life and Family

Christine Diane Teigen was born on November 30, 1985, in Delta, Utah. Her mother, Vilailuck Chaiudom, is from Thailand, and her father, Ronald Leroy Teigen, has Norwegian and German roots. Chrissy learned that some of her distant relatives, who were Roma, faced terrible times during the Holocaust.

After she was born, Chrissy and her family moved to Snohomish, Washington. Her parents ran a small restaurant there. When she was 15, her parents separated. Chrissy moved to Huntington Beach, California with her dad and sister. Her mom went back to Thailand. In Huntington Beach, Chrissy worked at a surf shop. There, a photographer discovered her, and she started modeling for a clothing company called Billabong.

Chrissy Teigen's Career Journey

Chrissy Teigen started her career as a model on the game show Deal or No Deal. She was one of the models who held the briefcases. She will return to the Deal or No Deal world in 2025 as the mysterious banker on Deal or No Deal Island.

Becoming a Top Model

In 2010, Chrissy appeared in the famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and was named "Rookie of the Year." Her friend, model Brooklyn Decker, helped her get this opportunity. In October 2013, she was in her husband John Legend's music video for "All of Me". This video also showed parts of their wedding.

In November, she started her cooking website, Cravings by Chrissy Teigen. This website shares recipes and tips for cooking and entertaining.

She also supports the rights of immigrants and spoke at a Families Belong Together event in Los Angeles. In May 2020, she donated money to help activists who were arrested during protests.

Chrissy has shared her opinions on politics and leaders. In June 2018, she donated money to the American Civil Liberties Union, a group that works to protect people's rights. She and her husband supported Joe Biden in the 2020 United States presidential election.

Chrissy Teigen's Family Life

Chrissy Teigen and singer John Legend got engaged in December 2011. They had been dating for four years. They first met in 2006 when Chrissy was in John's music video for his song "Stereo". They got married on September 14, 2013, in Como, Italy. John Legend's song "All of Me" was written for her. They live in Beverly Hills, California. In September 2023, Chrissy and John celebrated ten years of marriage and renewed their vows in Italy.

Chrissy and John have four children. Their first two children, a daughter born in 2016 and a son born in 2018, were conceived with medical help. In 2020, Chrissy experienced a very sad pregnancy loss. In 2023, she gave birth to another daughter, also conceived with medical help. Their fourth child, a son, was born later that year through a surrogate.
