History
What was Fine Living?
The channel first started in 2002. Back then, it was called Fine Living. It was meant for people who liked fancy lifestyles. The shows were about travel, adventure, and technology. It also covered topics like money and real estate. The channel wanted to help people enjoy their free time.
In 2007, Fine Living started showing reruns of The Martha Stewart Show. They also added a fun show called Whatever, Martha!. In this show, Alexis Stewart and Jennifer Hutt made funny comments. They watched old clips from Martha Stewart Living.
Becoming Cooking Channel
In 2009, the TV company decided to change Fine Living. They wanted to make it the Cooking Channel. This change happened because people wanted more cooking shows. The Food Network was showing more reality and competition shows. So, Cooking Channel became a place for cooking lessons and shows with famous chefs.
The Cooking Channel officially launched on May 31, 2010. It shows brand new cooking series. It also airs older, popular shows from the Food Network.
